Itinerary

Day 1: Queen Alia Airport – Amman
Meet and Greet at Amman Queen Alia Airport. Our airport representative will be waiting for you with a name sign and he will assist you with your visa, customs and your luggage. After the representative will take you to your guide and driver, waiting for you in the arrival hall, also holding a name sign. Note that the visa is at your own costs (40 JD/57 USD per person). Transfer to your hotel in Amman for overnight.

Day 2: Amman – Jerash – Amman
Your English-speaking guide will be waiting for you in the lobby of your hotel. During the tour he will carry a flag with a certain color which he will stick out his backpack. This will make it easier for you to follow the guide. There will be 2 translators available who are able to do sign language. They will translate everything what the guide tells you and assist you where needed during your tour. Start your first morning in Jordan with a city tour. Visit the Citadel in Amman, with beautiful views over the city. Continue to the Roman Theatre, located in the heart of Amman for a visit. Drive on to Jerash, to visit the world’s best preserved Roman provincial city. After your visit of Jerash transfer back to Amman. Explore the market together with your guide. Take in the hustle and bustle from Amman. Taste the spices that are being sold in big quantities. Tonight you will learn how to cook a traditional Jordanian meal at Beit Sitti. Surprise your taste buds tonight and experience a very tasty piece of Jordan! Overnight in Amman. (B, D)

Day 3: Amman – Madaba – Mt. Nebo – Karak – Dana
From Amman you drive towards Madaba, to visit the St George Church with its famous mosaic map. Continue to Mount Nebo, from where Moses viewed the Promised Land. Follow the King’s Highway until Karak, to visit the immense Crusaders Castle. Drive on to Dana Nature Reserve. Make sure to stop at a supermarket to buy some extra snacks and drinks for your stay in Dana. Overnight at a hotel in Dana Nature Reserve. (B, D)

Day 4: Dana – Petra
After breakfast you will enjoy a 2 hours hike in this beautiful reserve. After your hike in Dana drive to Little Petra for a first taste of what is to come next day. Continue to a hotel in Petra for check in, fresh up and some free time. Dinner for tonight is included at a local restaurant called Al Qantarah. (B, D) Optional activities for today: Petra by Night (each Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evening), Petra Kitchen cooking course, Local Turkish Bath

Day 5: Petra
Full day to explore Petra, one of the seven world wonders. Entry by Siq and visit the Treasury, Street of Facades, Theater, Colonnaded Street etc. after lunch inside Petra you will still have time to visit the Monastery and/or the High Place of Sacrifice today. It is a lot of climbing but definitely worth the views! Overnight at your hotel in Petra. (B, D)

Day 6: Petra
Second full day to explore Petra. If you haven’t visited the High Place of Sacrifice or the Monastery yesterday then today is your chance. Also take your chance to visit the Royal Tombs etc. Petra is a huge site and you can easily spend 2 full days here. Overnight at your hotel in Petra. (B, D)

Day 7: Petra – Wadi Rum
After breakfast drive to Wadi Rum Visitors Centre. Enjoy a half hour camel ride, riding from Rum Village to Lawrence’s Spring. Hobble through the desert and feel how the Bedouins used to transport themselves through the desert (and some still do!). After start with a half day jeep tour including a freshly prepared barbeque lunch. A jeep tour is the best way to discover lots of sites in Wadi Rum. The jeep will stop at each site giving you time to walk/scramble around and maybe even climb up on some of the beautiful natural formed bridges in Wadi Rum. Dinner and overnight at a campsite in Wadi Rum. Sleep inside your tent or move your mattress outside and sleep under the millions of stars tonight! (B, L, D)

Day 8: Wadi Rum – Aqaba
After breakfast you will drive to Aqaba for a free day and overnight. Relax at the beach, discover the town of Aqaba or book a snorkeling cruise including lunch! Overnight at a hotel in Aqaba. (B)

Day 9: Aqaba – Dead Sea
Check out of your hotel and drive via the Wadi Araba desert to the Dead Sea, lowest point on the earth’s surface. Enjoy your afternoon by floating in the salty waters and try out the famous healing mud. Overnight at a resort at the Dead Sea. (B, D)

Day 10: Dead Sea – Queen Alia Airport
Transfer to the airport for departure. You would need to leave the hotel 3 hours in advance (2 hours for the check in and less than 1 hour driving from Dead Sea to Amman Queen Alia Airport). (B)
